Abstract:
-This paper describes the implementation of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that can detect humans standing in the upright position. A remote-controlled helicopter is modified in which it is equipped with a camera and a global positioning system (GPS) chip. The camera is able to detect a human-being by sending its video feed to a computer through wireless connection. The software, Open Computer Vision (OpenCV), in the computer processes the video feed and determines whether there is a human being in the frame. The GPS chip was utilized to obtain the GPS coordinates of the UAV.
