Abstract:
-DIGICOM is a subject to orient the student in the fundamental knowledge used in the transmission of digital data. This subject is divided into five chapters. These are Telephone Network Systems, Introduction to Digital Communication, Multiplexing, Cellular Telephone Systems and Optical Fiber Transmission Media. Each of this chapter has an end of chapter test. Three long quizzes are also provided. To present the lectures, flash animations and html pages were used. Simulations are presented using flash and java applets. This thesis made use of the platform Moodle created by Martin Dougiamas. It is available in online and Stand-alone versions.
