The De La Salle University (DLSU) Juris Doctor (JD) program is envisioned to significantly influence national policy development, contribute to a heightened awareness of human rights in Philippine society, and play a critical role in human rights advocacy.
This program is anchored on the philosophy that legal education should serve as a means not only to equip the country’s young aspiring lawyers with technical knowledge and skills, but more importantly, to infuse social awareness, compassion and genuine love of country. They will be honed to make a significant impact on the strengthening of the rule of law in our culture and society and thus, lead in building a just, peaceful and economically stable Filipino nation.
Consistent with the University’s vision, the DLSU Juris Doctor (JD) program shall serve as a catalyst for generating and propagating new knowledge for social transformation. At the core of its curriculum shall be the promotion and safeguard of civil, political, economic, social and cultural human rights.
Guided by this vision, the DLSU College of Law is intended to become a leading law school in the country. It will endeavor to infuse more heart, ideals and conscience into the legal profession by training aspiring young lawyers within the perspective of Christian ideals. With the corps of competent administrators and faculty, complemented by technology-enabled professional services and state-of-the art facilities, the Juris Doctor (JD) will be a top-rate program, and build a community of scholars, pursuing new knowledge and sharing their expertise with aspiring young law students and lawyers.
