Strategic Goals
To realize the Vision-Mission, the College endeavors to:
- Deliver a distinctively (inclusive, interdisciplinary, and technology-mediated) Lasallian learner-centered curriculum by
a. integrating the Lasallian Guiding Principles with educational theory and practice;
b. formulating relevant learning objectives;
c. addressing the needs of the 21st century learner;
d. providing a conducive and stimulating learning environment; and
e. conducting periodic assessment.
2. Increase visibility, leadership, and influence impact in the region by
a. spearheading professional organizations in national and international levels;
b. leading interdisciplinary and inter-institutional research collaborations and consultancy projects; and
c. creating opportunities for international engagement of students.
3. Ensure quality of educational programs and services through adherence to total quality management principles by
a. providing transformative educational programs and services (resources, training, mentoring, collegiality, collaborativeness, and others);
b. implementing mechanisms for monitoring teaching performance, research productivity, community engagement, and professional development programs;
c. creating platforms for leadership succession, through recruitment of high-quality and best-fit human resource
4. Strengthen departmental research niche by
a. establishing discipline-specific research laboratories or teams;
b. engaging in multi / interdisciplinary research; and
c. increasing publication in SCOPUS and ISI indexed journals.
5. Develop specific competencies and skills of faculty in areas relevant to departmental priorities in teaching and research by
a. providing teacher training for teaching, learning, and research;
b. supporting national and international professional development activities;
c. providing platforms for faculty-in-practice (action research, externally-funded projects, and others); and
d. engaging in mentoring and interdisciplinary research and training activities.
6. Enhance opportunities for staff to develop their competencies and skills for effective delivery of services by
a. providing staff training for productivity tools, service delivery, relations, and operations;
b. providing a wholistic and comprehensive student, teacher, admin, staff evaluation to ensure effectiveness and efficiency ; and
c. providing and maintaining incentives to discriminate good and poor service.
7. Provide equal opportunities for every student to excel and succeed in their endeavors by
a. creating activities that recognize and enhance students’ different types of intelligences;
b. recommending linkages to international networks; and
c. training potential leaders in the field of education.
8. Ensure that all members of BAGCED undergo continuous formation to nurture a community that is truly Lasallian.
9. Involve the members of BAGCED in sustainable social engagement projects.
10. Engage / partner with Lasallian Teacher Education Institutions in the country and in the world.
11. Strengthen the presence of BAGCED in DLSU Laguna campus by offering responsive degree programs.
12. Take the lead on K-12 research, teacher training, curriculum development, materials development, assessment and evaluation.
