Major Projects

Teacher's Rights Campaign

A debate will be held featuring teachers both from public and private schools. Issues concerning teachers' rights will be interestingly tackled. This project aims to tie up with chosen public schools so as to empower our teachers in society. As future educators of this country, EdGE 2006 believes in the power of our roles as teachers to create a meaningful impact on transforming the face of this nation, and this will be pushed for by taking the first step of empowering present teachers with their rights.logo of edge 2006

P.I.N.O.Y. Rock Mania (Pride In Our Filipino Youth) Independence Day Gig

In lieu of Independence Day, this activity (proposed tie up with OVP-ACT) aims to promote a more intensified sense of nationalism among students in the batch. Official Pinoy Music artists and bands will be invited to showcase their original music that is truly Filipino, to have a fun-filled Independence Day celebration that will stir up a proud Filipino in every Lasallian. We are proud to be Pinoy!

Love Ko ‘To! Children's Christmas Party

Christmas time is a season of giving and sharing and in lieu of this occasion, we would want to reach out to the unprivileged students of St. La Salle preschool. This event aims to make these children's Christmas more memorable, by holding a children's party. School materials will be generously donated, working hand in hand hopefully with McDonald's Corporation.

EDGE B.A.TUT.A. (Batang Pinoy Agno Tutorial And Transformation Act)

Inspired by the S.I.G.A. formed within the communities of Gawad Kalinga, the EdGE BATuTa will be primarily a socio-civic activity that aims to conduct a research about the stray/street children on the streets of Agno, and possibly help build a guild of interested volunteers in creating a pleasant community for the children in Agno. This project aspires to create a sense of volunteerism in the students of EdGE 2006, which will be hopefully cascaded to the entire College of Education, while responding to the needs of the various sectors of the society.

EDGE Congress Reloaded

This student's congress will inform the batch with the different opportunities in the field of education both here and abroad, and will tackle mind-boggling questions such as "Am I in the right course?", "Was my decision to become a future teacher correct?", "Why should I work here in the Philippines rather than abroad?"

The UNICEF Experience

EdGE 06 is envisioned to create a strong alliance with UNICEF in pioneering worthwhile activities that will cater to fighting for children's rights. We students of the College of Education share in the vision of UNICEF, a vision that helps build a world where the rights of every child are realized. Together, our tie-up projects with UNICEF will incessantly fight in the belief that nurturing and caring for children are the building blocks of human progress.
