Social and Gender Issues in Emerging Infectious Diseases
The regional planning workshop on the project "Gender and Social Issues in Emerging Infectious Diseases" was held in Halong Bay, Vietnam on April 21-23, 2008. The participating countries are Cambodia, Indonesia and Vietnam. Capacity was built among concerned Ministry of Health officials to conduct research and prepare reports on the above concerns. The project is sponsored by the ASEAN Secretariat with funding from AusAID.
Research Capacity Building Program for National University of Laos Faculty

With a grant from Sasakawa Peace Foundation, the Center conducted a 3-year training and research capacity building program for faculty members of the Faculty of Economics and Management of the National University of Laos from year 2003 to 2006. Various methodologies in economics and management research were presented.

These series of training resulted in the development of research papers by the faculty which were presented in seminars and published.
