International Network
The Yuchengco Center participated in the 10th Philippine APEC Study Center Network (PASCN) General Assembly held on February 2, 2005 at the University of Asia and the Pacific. The Center is one of the founding members of the network led by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS). Stronger commitment and active participation among member-institutions were solicited. A new 5-year research agenda for the network focusing on trade relations, human security, region-wide pandemic threats, and international migration was agreed upon.
Dr. Trinidad Osteria attended the Philippine Human Development Network (HDN) General Assembly on March 29, 2006 at the Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila Hotel. The meeting served as a venue for the exchange of ideas on the affairs of the organization and the culminating activity to the 2005 Philippine Human Development Report (PHDR) cycle. The 2005 PHDR with its theme - Peace, Human Security and Human Development was launched.

The Yuchengco Center is a member of the CSCAP network, which has a membership that covers the whole Asia-Pacific region and holds annual meetings in Kuala Lumpur. - Philippine APEC Study Center Network (PASCN) The Yuchengco Center is one of the active members of the network, which is devoted to the promotion and study of APEC matters, and has co-sponsored two of PASCN conferences.

The Foundation supports the operations, programs and activities of the Yuchengco Center, and has donated to De La Salle University funds for the Don Enrique Yuchengco Building, which will house the central administration offices, and the Yuchengco Center. - University of San Francisco, United States of America
Ambassador Yuchengco donated an endowment fund for the establishment of the "Ma. Elena G. Yuchengco Philippine Studies program." The program will provide an opportunity for the Filipino-American population of USF and other interested parties to learn about the culture and history of the Philippines. The exchange of faculty members is with the Ateneo de Manila University. There will also be exchange of research materials and possible joint research with the Yuchengco Center.

The IDE, which is now part of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), is the think tank of the Japanese Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI). It published two research works of the Yuchengco Center: Medalla, Erlinda and Tereso Tullao, Jr., Economic Policies in APEC: The Philippine Case (1997), and Villacorta, Wilfrido, The Political Economy of ASEAN-Japan Relations (1995). - School of Humanities, Ibaraki University
Dr. Masataka Kimura of Ibaraki University heads a project on "Filipinos in Japan: Japanese in the Philippines," in cooperation with Dr. Robert Salazar, Dr. Richard Gonzales and Dr. Wilfrido V. Villacorta.
Philippine Studies Program, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies
Dr. Setsuho Ikehata of the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies is the Director of a project on Philippines-Japan relations. The Center is in charge of the Aquino and Ramos periods.

The Yuchengco Center co-sponsored with the Fletcher School a conference on NIC status for the Philippines, which was held in Subic last April 1996 and at the Fletcher School in Massachusetts in September 1996.

One of the leading US think tanks, the CSIS commissioned Dr. Villacorta to write the Philippine chapter for its book, Southeast Asia’s Changing Landscape: Implications for U.S.-Japan Relations on the Eve of the Twenty First Century (1999) edited by Gerrit W. Gong.

In a project proposal submitted to the Japan Foundation, Dr. Bachtiar Alam, Japanese Studies Director of the University of Indonesia, will be working with the Yuchengco Center on Indonesian and Filipino perceptions of Japan and the Japanese. - International Relations Research Unit, University of Queensland
Dr. William Tow, Director of the IRRU of the University of Queensland, has linked up with the Yuchengco Center for its project on human security in the Asia-Pacific. The Yuchengco Center was involved in drafting the Philippine chapter of the book, Strategic Cultures in the Asia-Pacific Region (1999) edited by Ken Booth and Russell Trood and published by the Macmillan Press.

The Foundation has for two consecutive years (1998, 1999) funded the participation of the Yuchengco Center in the annual meetings of the ASEAN-ISIS (Institute of Strategic and International Studies) at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
