The Center for Micro-Hydro Technology for Rural Electrification will function primarily as the R&D and Industrial Extension arm of DOE and provide assistance in manpower training. This is in line with University's vision and mission to be a resource of Church and Nation

Until recently, new and renewable energy sources such as micro- and mini-hydro power in the Philippines are becoming viable sources of power generation, particularly for small isolated communities. The initial investment might look big, but the long term benefit to the community and to the environment (e.g., greenhouse gas emissions reduction) will outweigh the investment. Once electricity is distributed and managed by the local communities, downstream industries can be established, bringing in much needed development for the community. Read More>>>
