About CeMTRE
Objectives
- To accelerate research and development on micro-hydro technologies in
the country
- To upgrade the existing hydraulic laboratory test facilities for micro-hydro
technologies at the College of Engineering of De La Salle University
- To establish the minimum standard of MHP turbine efficiency in the
country
- To promote local manufacturing of appropriate turbine and controllers
for micro-hydro power plants
- To conduct training on site survey and hydrologic study needed for
micro-hydropower system
- To help identify the appropriate technologies needed in the livelihood
activities for the economic sustainability of MHP plants
- To develop training manuals/computer softwares in the design, fabrication,
installation, and operation of micro-hydro power plants and other
related technologies
- To strengthen the inter-agency coordination among academic institutions,
NGOs and other stakeholders on micro-power technologies
- To establish a mini-library at the Center for the documentation of
research activities of local and foreign institutions involved
in micro-hydropower technologies as well as in the procurement of books
and publications related to MHP
- To install two (2) units of micro-hydro demonstration plant
- To monitor regularly the performance of the two demonstration plants
Expected Outputs
