About the Center

The BNSCWC was established with the intention of formalizing and implementing the University’s objectives of contributing to the literary development of the country, in general, and improving the literary skills and expertise of La Salle students, faculty, and non-teaching staff, in particular. Considering the humanist thrust of Lasallian education, the Center is viewed as an imperative institution that affirms the University’s involvement in the total education of its community. While academic training encompasses all aspects of human development, the Center answers the need for artistic training and literary outlets for persons with creative writing potential. This fulfills the humanistic, artistic aspect of the University’s commitment towards fostering literary excellence within and beyond the campus.

The Center is initially funded by the Bienvenido N. Santos Professorial Chair. It seeks to conduct its programs and activities with the help of cultural development offices and corporate sponsors.
