Research Fellows

Senior Research Fellows

Dr. Michael M. Alba has a Ph.D. in Applied Economics from Stanford University, and is currently the Dean of the College of Business and Economics of De La Salle University-Manila. His publications deal with issues concerning wage structures, wage differentials, and health.

Dr. Myrna Austria is the Director of the Center for Business and Economics Research and Development (CBERD) of De La Salle University-Manila. She has a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from the Australian National University, and specializes in development economics and international trade.

Dr. Leila Calderon-Kabigting is the Chair of the Financial Management Department of DLSU-Manila. She earned her Doctor in Business Administration from the Graduate School of Business of the DLSU Professional Schools. Her research focuses on stock trading, particularly stock return volatility.

Dr. Caesar Cororaton is an Associate Professor of Economics at De La Salle University-Manila. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Clark University, Massachusetts. His research interests include the role of technological change in economic development, and economic adjustments and structural change.

Dr. Louie Divinagracia is a professor at the Graduate School of Business of the De La Salle University Professional Schools, where he also earned his Doctor of Business Administration. He specializes in social science research, entrepreneurship / management studies, and agribusiness.

Prof. Oscar Lagman Jr. is an independent consultant, and is a professor at the Graduate School of Business of the De La Salle University Professional Schools. He earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of San Francisco.

Dr. Roberto Raymundo is an Associate Professor at the Economics Department of DLSU-Manila. He earned his Doctor of Business Administration and his Master of Science in Economics from the same university. He specializes in macroeconomics, development economics, and project analysis.

Dr. Celia Reyes is currently involved in the review of poverty alleviation programs in the country as Project Director of the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) International Network Project - Philippines. She earned her Doctorate of Philosophy in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Cesar Rufino is an Associate Professor of Economics at De La Salle University-Manila. He earned his Doctor of Business Administration from the Graduate School of Business of the DLSU Professional Schools. He specializes in econometrics, statistics, modeling, and operational research.

Dr. Ather Sajid is the Director for Development and Corporate Affairs of DLSU-AKI. He has a Doctor of Philosophy in Management from Adamson University and a Post Graduate Diploma in International Relations from the University of Punjab.

Dr. Andrea L. Santiago is an Associate Professor at the Business Management Department, College of Business and Economics of De La Salle University-Manila and Director of the CHED Zonal Research Center for the National Capital Region. She earned her Doctor in Business Administration from the Graduate School of Business of the DLSU Professional Schools. She specializes on issues concerning family businesses.

Dr. Michael John Sullivan is an Associate Professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He earned his Ph.D in Finance from Florida State University. His research interests include international markets, corporate governance, corporate control, agency theory, and market efficiency.

Dr. Tereso S. Tullao Jr. is a Professor of Economics at De La Salle University-Manila. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University. Tullao is a multi-awarded teacher and researcher, and belongs to the elite group of University Fellows of DLSU-Manila.

Dr. Angelo Africa Unite is a Professor of Economics at the College of Business and Economics of De La Salle University-Manila. He earned his Ph.D in Finance from the University of Alberta, Canada. His research interests include portfolio theory, investment analysis, and international finance.

Dr. Winfred M. Villamil is the Chair of the Economics Department of De La Salle University-Manila. He earned his Ph.D in Economics from the University of the Philippines School of Economics. He has conducted research on labor standards, child labor, and outsourcing.

Junior Research Fellows


Marvin Raymond Castell is an Assistant Professor at the Economics Department of DLSU-Manila. He earned his Master of Science in Economics from the same university.

Paulynne Castillo is the Vice Dean of the College of Business and Economics of DLSU-Manila. She earned her Master of Arts in Economics from the California State University.

Raymund Habaradas is an Assistant Professor at the Business Management Department of DLSU-Manila. He earned his Master of Business Administration from the same university.

Rene Hapitan is an Assistant Professor at the Financial Management Department of DLSU-Manila. He earned his Master in Business Management from the Asian Institute of Management.

Gerardo Largoza is an Assistant Professor at the Economics Department of DLSU-Manila. He earned his Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Exeter.

Bernadette Mandap is the Research and Administration Officer of the CBMS International Network Project. She earned her Master in Development Economics from the University of the Philippines-Diliman.

Atty. Juris Tomboc is an Assistant Professor at the Commercial Law Department of DLSU-Manila. She earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Ateneo de Manila University.

Vivencio Dizon is a former economics professor at DLSU-Manila. He earned his Master of Science in Applied Development Studies at the University of Reading, UK.

Victor Pontines is a former economics professor at DLSU-Manila. He completed his Master of Arts in Economics of the European Union from the University of Exeter.
