The International Development Research Centre is a public corporation created by the Parliament of Canada in 1970 to help developing countries use science and technology to find practical, long–term solutions to the social, economic, and environmental problems they face. Support is directed toward developing an indigenous research capacity to sustain policies and technologies developing countries need to build healthier, more equitable, and more prosperous societies.
IDRC has been supporting research in the Philippines for over 35 years through the country’s network of strong universities and research institutions. The Philippines is the third largest recipient of IDRC support in Southeast Asia after China and Cambodia.
Since 1972, IDRC has allocated more than CA$42 million to 255 projects in the Philippines, some of which were regional in scope. As of 2006, there are 10 active projects in the country, representing an investment of CA$2.5 million.
Konrad–Adenauer–Stiftung

Konrad–Adenauer–Stiftung, more popularly known as Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAF) in the Philippines, is an independent non-profit German political foundation guided by the principles of the Christian Democratic Movement. The foundation was named after the first Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany.
KAF promotes international understanding, as well as development policy operations. Its activities include political education, preparing scientific analyses to serve as a basis for future political action, extending scholarships to gifted students, and researching the history of the Christian Democratic Movement.
Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS)

PIDS is organized as a non-stock, nonprofit government corporation by virtue of Presidential Decree No. 1201. It was established to respond to the critical and growing need for research for planning and policy formulation. In general, PIDS research is envisioned to help government planners and policy-makers in the executive and legislative branches of government. Its primary clientele consists of the network of agencies which make up the National Economic and Development Authority.
