BACKGROUND/ACHIEVEMENTS:
Sir Mariano, a marine officer, has truly lived up to what marines really are. "The Few and the Proud" and A Man with an Iron Fist. He has achieved so much in his 30 1/2 years in the service. He became a part of the active commissioned service in 1981. Before entering into the profession of arms, Sir Mariano finished a degree in commerce at the University of Sto. Tomas in Espana, Manila. Since becoming part of the active commissioned service, he had been assigned many duties and only some of them would be, the Aide-de-Camp/Security Officer to the Flag Officer in Command from October 1986 to July 1988, the Commanding Officer of the HSG, NRC and is currently the Chief of Staff of the Naval Reserve Command. He is happily married to a school teacher and is a father to look upto to his 2 sons and an only daughter.
NAME: ENS JAN MICHAEL H ALMONTE PN

BACKGROUND/ACHIEVEMENTS:
At only 26 years old, Sir Almonte has already accomplished much for his young age. Hailing from Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Sir Almonte was a Cadet Officer during his high school days at Holy Trinity College. He also underwent Basic and Advanced ROTC and NS-43 training during his college days at Palawan State University, where he graduated with a degree in Political Science. Sir Almonte was commissioned into the Navy on June 2003. Wishing to continue pursing his passion for the field of law and politics, he continued his education by studying law at the Palawan State University for two years. Throughout his career, he has already received 3 military merit medals, 2 civic action medals, and one military commendation medal. He also became the assistant commandant of the 420th Palawan State University NROTCU, which won the title of NROTC of the year and garnered 3rd place in the AGTI Nationals during his office in 2006.
Away from work, Sir Almonte likes to spend his free time reading about philosophy, political theories, science and technology, and history, and target or pistol shooting. He also dreams of becoming a lawyer someday, that he may administer justice in the Philippine Navy.
NAME: CPO MARIEL M SOTTO PN

BACKGROUND/ACHIEVEMENTS:
Sir Sotto has been in the service for almost 25 years, which began during his enlistment on the 16th of November, 1983. Prior to the beginning of his military career, he earned a vocational degree as an Industrial and Building Electrician at the Meralco Foundation Institute in 1981. Following his education, he entered the service, finishing in the top 5 of his class, and working initially in the Naval Construction Brigade in Fort Bonifacio. Since his enlistment, he has been worked in the Philippine Fleet; from December 1983 to May 1990, he worked in the Philippine Naval vessel BRP Tawi-Tawi, and after that until 2004, he was assigned to the BRP Ang Pangulo. On the same year he was reassigned to the Naval Reserve Command, initially at the NRC Headquarters where he assumed the duty of the POIC for Research and Development (NR-8). Before being assigned to the 247th NROTC Unit, he also assumed the position of the Assistant Commandant at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines in Cavite. Away from work, Sir Sotto enjoys his time with his wife, to whom he has been married to since 1991, and his daughter.

BACKGROUND/ACHIEVEMENTS:
DP1 Piring had been in the military service for 25 years since the fresh age of 22. She took up the EWBC for ten months in the Naval Training Center in Fort San Felipe, Cavite City in the year 1983. She was assigned in several units of the Navy, including the Philippine Coast Guard and the Naval Reserve Command and also assisted in the training of Advance cadet officers who are aspiring to be Naval officers during the Summer Shipboard Training last 2005-2008. Ma'am Piring, who had always been both kind and professional in her work, has helped DLSU NROTCU accomplish successful training days since June 2005.

BACKGROUND/ACHIEVEMENTS:
Prior to joining the service, Sir Casison was trained as an General Radio Communications Operator from 1979 to 1981 at the Guzman Technical Institute in Sta. Cruz, Manila. During 1981 he also was trained as an Electronic Technician at the Oriental Technical Institute. He joined the service on 1982, under the training of the Naval Training Command. He was also assigned to the Philippine Navy Infantry Battalion at Sangley Pt., Cavite. Sir Casison was enlisted into the regular force on the 16th of February, 1986, and later that year until 1997, he worked aboard ship on the Naval Patrol Vessel BRP Datu Marikudu (PS23).
Sir Casison is also a family man. Having married on June 1990, Sir Casison also spends his time with his wife and two daughters.

"Mang Rudy" has been the coordinator of the ROTC Department since June 1999. He was a former discipline officer and worked in DLSU since June 1982. The ROTC Coordinator provides opportunities for a better working relationship between the university and the ROTC Unit.

Ms. Laguador was a graduate of the National College of Business and Arts wherein she took up a secretarial course. Upon graduation in the year 1969, she was hired by DLSU to serve as a secretary for the ROTC Department. "Ma'am Au" had never left her work and has been the ROTC secretary for 27 years. She now lives in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, with her husband and children.
