What is the Star Scholars Program? The Star Scholars Program is an innovative program that offers a integrated undergraduate and graduate scholarship to high-achieving students from around the country. Students selected for the program have the unique opportunity to earn a master's degree or go into medicine proper (BS Human Biology students) or enroll in the College of Law on full scholarship after finishing their undergraduate degree.
The Star Scholars Program combines the prestige and the scope of a competitive benefits package. Star Scholars receive a full waiver on tuition, miscellaneous, and laboratory fees throughout their stay in the University. They are also accorded special privileges such as an option to enroll in six units of any foreign language course offered in the University, exclusive use of computer facilities in the library for research and e-mail, additional library borrowing priveleges, advance enrollment, mentoring by the University Fellows, priority in study tours, and special career placement opportunities. Star Scholars are also provided with their personal notebook computer.
Moreover, Star Scholars undergo the Achieving through Integrated Mentoring (AIM) Program through which the University ensures the maximum development of their potentials and offers a support mechanism to facilitate their socio-emotional and spiritual development.
Financially needy scholars may apply for assistance from the University's Scholarship and Financial Assistance (SFA) Office. A modest stipend apart from the full payment of tuition can be made available.
One should be among the top examinees of the DLSU Entrance Exam. The University invites the candidates for an orientation and a rigorous screening. A University committee reviews their qualifications and makes the final selection.
