Other Financial Assistance Programs

The Star Scholars Program

This is a special program wherein outstanding students from around the country are selected to be part of an elite circle of scholars who avail of an undergraduate and a graduate scholarship.

The top 60 students who qualify in the admissions exam are screened and interviewed to fill limited slots in the program. Students selected for the program have the opportunity to earn a master's degree or go to medical school proper after finishing their undergraduate degree on full scholarship. The Star Scholars also enjoy these and other privileges without a service clause. A modest stipend may be availed of by qualified financially needy scholars.

Financial Grants

Full or partial tuition and fees scholarship are given to deserving incoming freshman students who had applied for financial assistance during the DLSU-Manila Application Period and had been screened and selected by the SFA Committee based on specific criteria. Although scholarship grants are provided by the University, outside donors may also give other forms of assistance such as stipends and allowances. Please refer to the "Financial Assistance for Incoming College Freshmen General Guidelines".

Academic Scholarship

High school valedictorians or salutatorians of seven La Salle schools who have passed entrance requirements will be automatically awarded academic scholarships (full tuition and fees) starting their freshman year. These schools are De La Salle Santiago Zobel, La Salle Green Hills, La Salle Antipolo, La Salle-Lipa, Batangas, La Salle Academy, Iligan, University of St. La Salle-Bacolod and St. Joseph High School Bacolod.

Brother President Scholarship Program (BPSP)

This is awarded to the legitimate or legally-adopted children of married, permanent and full time faculty and administrative service personnel who joined the DLSU-Manila in May 1987 or after (not qualified for the old tuition waiver program for faculty members) and have served the University for at least three years and are in active University Service while availing the grant. These students should have passed the entrance requirements of La Salle Green Hills or the DLSU System school where they intend to enroll. This is open to incoming Kinder 1 or Grade 1 pupils for the elementary level: first year students for the high school level, or freshman students for the college level (undergraduate course only). Scholars will be selected and awarded full/partial tuition scholarship based on specific criteria. Qualified faculty/Academic Service Personnel must apply for the scholarship on behalf of their children.

Military Scholarship (PD 577)

Dependents of military personnel who died or became incapacitated in the line of duty are exempted from the payment of tuition fees. Qualified applicants are granted tuition fees waiver based on availability of slots.

Other Financial Assistance Programs

Athletic Scholarship

Athletes or varsity players enjoy full or partial tuition and/or fees waiver. Grantees are recommended by the Office of Sports Development (OSD)

Cultural Arts Scholarship

This is extended to the members of the Cultural Arts Office Clubs such as DLSU Chorale, Chamber Ensemble, Harlequin Theater Guild, La Salle Dance Company, and the Pops Orchestra. They enjoy tuition discounts ranging from 10% to 100%.

Student Publications Scholarship

This is awarded to the senior editors of the three undergraduate student publications, namely LaSallian, Plaridel and Malate Literary Journal. They enjoy discounts ranging from 20% to 100%.

Family Tuition Discount

This privilege may be availed of by families with three or more children enrolled in the undergraduate programs of the University, The tuition discount that the child with the lowest ID number can avail of may range from 40% in case of three children, 60% for 4 children and 80% for 5 children.

Loan Program

This is available to upper year students who cannot meet the deadlines for payment of tuition. These short-term and interest free loans are payable within the term.
