The Student Media Office is composed of the Director, the Coordinator for Training and Operations, and the Secretary. As one team, they serve as guide for the Student Media Council (SMC) and the major student media groups, namely Ang Pahayagang Plaridel, The La Sallian, Malate Literary Folio, Green & White, Green Giant FM, and Archers Network.


Prior to working full-time for DLSU SMO Ms. Balita-Centeno has worked in the media for the past 10 years—editing and writing for newspapers and magazines based both here and abroad. She has penned/edited articles for Manila Bulletin, TV5, Hinge Inquirer Publications, Illustrado International Magazine, Smart Parenting Magazine, Cosmopolitan Magazine,,, and among many others. She has also been working as a faculty of the Department of Communication since 2009 teaching Introduction to Print Media, Writing for Print, Desktop Publishing, and others.

She received her Master of Arts in Communication (Major in Applied Media Technology Studies) in 2009 from De La Salle University-Manila.


Ms. Baun graduated Cum Laude from De La Salle University-Manila with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Arts.  While still a student in La Salle, she served as a literary staffer for Green and White in 2011 and a Junior Officer for the Writers’ Guild in 2010.  Prior to joining DLSU SMO Ms. Baun worked as a Managing Editor for Breakfast Magazine from 2013-2015 and as the Creative Director for the same publication from 2011-2013.


Ate Ella, as she is fondly called, is the highly efficient assistant who helps members of the student media groups with their logistical concerns. She received her Bachelor of Science in Secretarial Administration Major in Computer Secretarial Education from Philippine Christian University. She has been working for DLSU for the past 16 years.  

Faculty Advisers and Consultants

SMO works hand in hand with faculty advisers who provide informed and realistic counsel and guidance to the student media groups. Equipped with experience in their field and the teaching acumen, they are essential in rearing student media practitioners whose skills and knowledge are at par with the standards of the professional world.

Student Assistants

SMO constantly enlists the help of student assistants from the Office of Admissions and Scholarships.These students are in charge of helping the SMO staff with day-to-day operations.They are also tasked with maintaining and updating SMO’s social media accounts.
