Company Background:

Company background: Metrobank Card Corporation was established in August 1985, known then as Unibank Card Corporation. Its maiden product was called Unicard, a single currency credit card accepted in key establishments in the Philippines. Over the years, Unicard evolved from a locally accepted card to an internationally recognized credit card when it rode on the MasterCard scheme in 1994 and the Visa scheme in 1998. It has since produced the Visa dual currency card and a string of private label cards, among others.

In October 2003, Australia New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ) entered into a joint venture with Metropolitan Bank and Trust Corporation (MBTC) for the cards operation business of Metrobank Card Corporation. It is a joint venture built on the strength of these two financial giants.

Marketing Usage and Portfolio Officer

Job Description:

  • The jobholder is responsible for developing and managing marketing programs intended to grow his/her assigned product or service. He should implement programs and enhancements to achieve targets related to the merchant affiliation, retail billings, attrition and activation of products/services handled. Jobholder must possess necessary skills to apply relevant market, industry and consumer insights in developing effective campaigns and address current and unforeseen customer needs. He should be up to date with competitor trends and practices and effectively respond with counter measures to maintain competitive advantage vs. other issuers. The jobholder should ensure that performance monitoring and profitability measures are in place.


  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree from a college/university and preferably a graduate of a business course.
  • With one (1) to two (2) years of work experience in Marketing and/or Business Development or Business Analytics, in an officer/managerial level
  • Has broad understanding of the different areas of the credit card business and the capacity to relate unit’s operations and performance metrics to the overall business of the company
  • Possess strong inter-personal skills
  • Has strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • With knowledge in preparing communication and creative briefs and possess learning capability to prepare and analyze reports for marketing programs.
