ICAP offers financial broking services for a wide range of asset classes including rates, FX, commodities, emerging markets, credit and equities. For each of these asset classes, ICAP’s electronic capability gives customers the choice to enter prices and execute trades electronically, directly via one of ICAP’s electronic trading systems, and/or to engage with a broker to identify and help negotiate trades. Position Title: Junior Financial Brokers

Job description:

  • Providing complete support to the brokers for the smooth running of the desk
  • Ensuring timely input of trades into trading systems
  • Resolving any trade queries received internally and externally and ensuring any trade discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner
  • Identifying trading opportunities and calculating strategies
  • Keeping trade records up to date
  • Updating real-time manual/electronic whiteboards with market data
  • Providing input on various projects for brokers and traders
  • Providing trade details to brokers and traders on a daily basis
  • Giving live quotes to traders through the messaging systems
  • Liaising with clients both on the telephone and face to face to provide a reliable and efficient broking service
  • Support the Desk Head to manage the existing business effectively to protect and enhance market share.
  • Perform customer relationship management which will involve corporate entertaining.
  • Manage clients and lines on the desk in a proactive manner (i.e. account allocation, dealing with customer issues, etc.)
  • Understand pertinent regulation, assess and implement compliance with the evolving regulatory landscape and internal/external governance in partnership with infrastructure teams
  • Support a risk and compliance aware culture and ensure all staff understands and complies with group policies
  • Exercise independent judgement, integrity, care, skill and diligence to avoid conflicts of interest and escalate issues as appropriate.

  • Understanding of global financial markets
  • Microsoft applications software skills e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook etc. (essential)
