Br. Armin shares Lasallian Youth Network vision to students Br. Armin Luistro FSC, De La Salle University System president, made known his vision of a Lasallian Youth Network during the first Lasallian Youth Gathering organized by the Office of the President. It was attended by DLSU System students on June 26 at Yuchengco 407. The network is envisioned to facilitate synergy and collaboration among Lasallian youth initiatives for the youth-at-risk. The Lasallian youth are young individuals aged 30 and below in the Lasallian Family who are committed to the service of the youth-at-risk. It is comprised of the current roster of enrolled students in the schools of the DLSU-System - from grade school and high school to undergraduate to post-graduate students. It also includes the young alumni of the system schools. The project is expected to encourage sustainability of Lasallian youth projects through advocacy, resource-sharing, and capacity-building. Also part of the project is the construction of an online network for inter-organizational collaboration and synergy. Dubbed as onelasalleyouth.org, the website will host youth directories, networking services, interactive forum boards, system school news, information on Lasallian youth gatherings, and a DLSU System social action calendar, among others. Office of the President Consultant for Lasallian Youth Ministry Lawrence Aikee Esmeli organized the event. Also present during the gathering is Br. Cecilio Hojilla FSC who invoked the youth’s involvement. The student leaders who attended the event are the DLSU System schools’ representatives in the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines’ People Power funeral march and Mass for the late Archbishop Jaime Cardinal Sin, D.D. at Luneta Park and Manila Cathedral, respectively.
