SC president youngest CHIMES Award recipient  | Photo shows (from right) DLS-HSC Eexcutive Vice President Dr. Antonio Montalban, Br. Armin Luistro FSC, and the CHIMES finalists. | Saint Anthony Tiu (BS CHE ’04), Student Council president for School Year 2003-2004 and College of Engineering alumnus was named one of the recipients of the 2005 Lorenzo M. Tañada CHIMES Award. Ceremonies were held on March 2 at the Two Hearts of Jesus and Mary Chapel, De La Salle-Health Sciences Campus in Cavite. Tiu is also a recipient of the BPI Science Award, P&G Student Excellence Award, Benigno S. Aquino Jr. Award for Nationalism, Jose Rizal Outstanding Model Student, two Gawad Mag-aaral Outstanding Student Leader Awards, Community Service Award, and Br. Gabriel Connon Graduation Special Award. He won the CHIMES top award together with Edwin Garcia, DLS-HSC Engineering Department support staff. Another CHIMES Award finalist from DLSU-Manila was the late Dr. Eduardo Natividad ( ) of the College of Education. He passed away June of last year. Other CHIMES finalists were DLS Santiago Zobel student Ana Ysabel Soriano; DLS-Professional Schools, Inc. Graduate School of Business faculty and administrator Dr. Benito Teehankee; and DLSU-Dasmariñas faculty and administrator Dr. Teresita Unabia. Present during the event were Mass Celebrant Most Reverend Luis Antonio Tagle, DD, STD, bishop of the Diocese of Imus, Cavite; Br. Armin Luistro FSC, DLSU System president; Dr. Antonio Montalban, DLS-HSC executive vice president; and Ramon Roxas, representative of the Tañada family. Dedicated to alumnus and nationalist Lorenzo Tañada, the CHIMES Award is an annual undertaking of the DLSU System which serves to honor Lasallian community members who are filled with Gospel zeal, who recognize Christ in others, and whose behavior reflect Christian values.
