Computer Technology Department earns Cisco QA Academy status The College of Computer Studies Computer Technology Department recently earned the distinction of being the only Cisco Quality Assurance (QA) Academy in the Philippines. The certification is effective from August 1, 2004 to July 31, 2005. As a QA Academy, the Computer Technology Department will implement quality assurance initiatives to more than 140 regional and local academies nationwide. This is to ensure proper operation and implementation of the CISCO Networking Academy Program (CNAP). The QA Academy is also responsible for the investigation, resolution, and documentation of quality issues or complaints reported from regional and local academies all over the country.  | Homage to F. For the months of August to October, the Department was given a 4 out of 5 performance evaluation by the Cisco System’s Asia Pacific Worldwide Education Technology Manager. The CCS has been a Regional Academy of Cisco since Year 2000 and it is also the first and only Cisco Academy Training Center (CATC) in the Philippines. This status allows the Department to train instructors from regional and local academies in the entire Asia Pacific Region. Through the Networking Academy Program, the Department implements a comprehensive e-learning model that conducts classes using web-based content, online assessment, student performance tracking, and hands-on labs. Each course prepares the student to take industry standard certification to complement the undergraduate diploma. The QA Academy will be required to demonstrate best effort to achieve and exceed listed goals. Any additional QA initiatives originated by the QA Academy are also encouraged. Courses available through the academy program are Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Fundamentals of Network Security, Fundamentals of Wireless LANs, Fundamentals of Java Programming, Fundamentals of Unix, HP IT Essentials 1: PC Hardware and Software, HP IT Essentials 2: Networking Operating Systems, and Panduit Network Infrastructure Essentials.
