What is Greenovation?

A commemoration of the milestones, achievements, and developments in De La Salle University-Manila’s history as well as a renewal of the Lasallian vision for 2011, Greenovation is a program that seeks to bring innovative, responsive, and relevant education.

Carrying the theme, “Teaching Minds, Touching Hearts…A Hundred Years of Lasallian Education in the Philippines,” the launching ceremony last year featured the groundbreaking for a time capsule containing the signatures of the Lasallian community members and a declaration of DLSU-M’s vision for 2011.

DLSU System President Brother Rolando Dizon, FSC said the centennial celebration should also be a commemoration of the institution of District Brothers in the Philippines. For 90 years now, the Lasallian Brothers have been playing a significant role in shaping the face of Philippine education.

Executive Vice President Dr. Carmelita Quebengco remarked that Greenovation stands for the basic ideals of Lasallian education, that is, excellence and service. She called for unity and cooperation as Lasallians take the path to a meaningful faith.

For his part, Brother Visitor Armin Luistro, FSC, noted that more than a time of festivity, Greenovation should be a real search for service by every member of the Lasallian family.
