World Day of Fasting and Prayer

Pope John Paul II has declared December 14 a Day of Fasting and Prayer for Peace. Jaime Cardinal Sin, in a letter dated December 6th, has instructed all priests and chaplains of Catholic Institutions to devote the entire day to prayer and fasting. Cardinal Sin has called upon all of us to give generously to the poor from whatever we save by prayer and fasting.

The Lasallian Pastoral Office will hold activities at the Pearl of Great Price Chapel on December 14. At various times, organizations and groups will be invited to take the lead. Thee will be the recitation of the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary at 9 am. At 12:10, the Eucharistic Celebration will focus on peace and reconciliation. From 1 to 3 pm, there will be public exposition of the Blessed Sacrament with scriptural readings and time for silent reflection. The Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will conclude the public exposition. At 5 pm, there will be the recitation of the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary.
