Marketing professor gets TOYM award

Marketing Professor Josiah Go is one of this year’s TOYM (Ten Outstanding Young Men 2001) awardees. Her Excellency, President Gloria Macapagal-Arrroyo will personally hand the award to him, along with the nine awardees, at the Malacañang Palace on December 11.

Recognized for his outstanding achievement in business education, Go’s pioneering efforts in network marketing were acknowledged, considering the importance of education in the formation of business leaders and entrepreneurs.

Given annually by the Philippine Jaycees, the TOYM award recognizes young men and women whose contributions in various fields have not only been exemplary, relevant and inspiring, but have also made an impact on the Philippine economy and on the members of society.

An alumnus of De La Salle University-Manila, Go graduated in 1982 with the degree of Bachelor of Science Major in Management (BSC-M). As a student leader, he was awarded a gold medal for Outstanding Leadership in Community Development.

Go is also a trainer and consultant for the specialized field of marketing and sales strategy. He has been tapped over 200 times to help senior and top-level management in various industries of both local and multinational corporations.

Aside from being a much sought-after speaker in professional associations, non-government organizations, and schools, Go is a widely read author of marketing reference books with Philippine setting.
