Bhutan officials visit SDRC

Bhutan officials visited the Social Development Research Center (SDRC) on August 30. The visit is part of a two-week study tour of various schools and offices in the country to improve the officials’ knowledge about promoting health and sex education among the youth.

The officials were interested to learn about youth-related problems, such as early marriage, pre-marital pregnancy, use of illegal drugs, STD and HIV/AIDS, peer pressure, prostitution, suicidal tendencies, and such. They also familiarized themselves with programs and interventions implemented for the Filipino youth.

Dr. Romeo Lee, Dr. Loyd Brendan Norella, Dr. Pilar Ramos-Jimenez and Dr. Melisse Reyes gave a briefing to the visitors on the SDRC research initiatives to address the concerns of the youth.
