Time
capsule for 2011
Lasallian community gathers signatures for
posterity
More
than a dozen 22' x 9’ canvasses will be placed around the
campus for the Lasallian community to sign their names for
posterity. The activity is part of De La Salle University-Manila’s
preparations for its centennial celebrations in 2011.
Student organizations will set up booths to gather as much
signatures as possible. Once filled up, the canvasses will
be placed inside a stainless cylindrical time capsule, which
will be buried near the St. La Salle statue at the Marian
Quadrangle.
The canvasses will be seen around the campus starting today
until August 24, the launching date of the centennial 10-year
countdown.
The special ceremony will bring together representatives of
the Board of Trustees, administration, faculty, staff, and
the student body.
The activity will be part of the August 24 launching, which
will also signal the start of the fundraising campaign in
commemoration of the University’s 100th year in the Philippines.
The funds raised will be channeled to more scholarships, tuition
subsidies, research projects, and community service to public
schools.
