Translation is life as art, says Medina in newest book
One
translates as one uses words in living life, B.S. Medina,
Jr., of the Department of Literature and Philippine Languages,
says in his latest book, Sa Ibang Salita, a collection of
essays in Filipino on translation.
Medina, University Fellow and holder of the Tranquilino Valderrama
Distinguished Chair in the Humanities, will deliver his professorial
chair lecture, “At Tumangis si Jesus”, on Wednesday, February
14 at the Conservatory, at 2:40 p.m. Medina’s book will be
launched immediately after the lecture.
Sa Ibang Salita is the first of two URCO projects granted
to Medina as recipient of the Brother Miguel Febres Cordero
Research Award in 1998. Medina’s book is published by the
De La Salle University Press.
