DLSU-Manila’s Student Personnel Services (SPS) launches the Student Awards for SY 2001, an annual tribute to outstanding student leaders, artists, writers, athletes, organizations and student organization advisers.

The University gives recognition to individuals who exemplify the values, skills, and behavior of Lasallian Christian achievers to provide their fellow students with models for service, excellence and teamwork, and concern for others.

Awards will be presented to the most outstanding: student leader, CSO president, cultural arts group president, student athlete, student campus journalist, student creative writer, student in community development, student for discipline, student military leader, and student organization adviser.

A special citation dubbed the Peace and Order Cleanliness Award, will also be presented to the college with the least or no discipline disturbance (absence of fights, brawls) and is able to maintain cleanliness characterized by the absence of littering and vandalism, and non-violation of eating and posting policies.

Service Merit Awards will also be given to student support staffers who have rendered consistent exemplary services to their respective offices. University commendations will also be given to students who have excelled in their fields and have brought recognition and prestige to their Alma Mater.

All bonafide students of DLSU-Manila and CCS students of DLS-PSI are free to join the event provided that they have no record of major discipline offense, no failing grade in the past school year, and is an official member of any recognized organization in DLSU-Manila.

Any member of the Lasallian community may recommend/ nominate himself/herself, a student, organization or a faculty adviser for this year’s Student Awards.

Interested individuals may get nomination kits at the Office of Student Affairs (SPS 301) and submit them along with two accomplished recommendation forms to the Screening Committee on or before February 9.

A list of accepted applicants for paper screening will be posted on February 12 while the list of the qualified nominees who will pass the screening will be released on February 23. A letter will be sent to inform the candidates of their panel interviews.

The awarding ceremonies will be on June 30.
