The Information Technology Center (ITC) of De La Salle University was established to provide the highest quality service responsive to and meeting the information needs and computerization requirements of both the academic community and the various administrative units in the university.
To help attain this goal, the ITC is tasked to provide the following services:
Design, development, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of computer/manual-based information systems. This service comes in the form of implemented computer-based information systems and enhanced manual-based systems as requested by the departments/administrative units to facilitate their operations.
Maintenance of files, regular processing and generation of computer-based system reports for operational and management uses, and sharing of computer time for external users of the computing facilities.
Document Processes covers assisting process owners document their processes (e.g., procedures, work instructions, policies, etc.). Evaluate and improve processes covers problem identification, investigation and recommendation of corrective action within the specified area. This also covers coordinating and facilitating Process Review and Improvement Team (PRIT) meetings.
Acquisition of computer facilities and its optimal allocation for academic, administrative, or seminars/conferences' requirements.
Installation and maintenance of the campus-wide network and other computer facilities.
Provides visitors a guided tour of the DLSU Information Technology Resources and Services.
Bulk ordering of the required computer supplies to ensure the availability of computer supplies at a discount to all requesting departments and computer laboratories of the university.
Offer orientations, seminars, and trainings related to Total Quality Management such as customer service, good housekeeping, problem solving techniques, and planning methodologies.
Covers performance of work measurement and method study, Internal Quality Review covers review of process owners' business process through random sampling techniques and verify if it complies with pre-defined requirements.
Acquisition, reproduction, and maintenance of software manuals to provide references to users.
Covers the orientation of users on the available software and application systems developed internally as well as the conduct of training courses for the general users of the computer facilities.
Announcement, marketing, or promotion of both academic and non-academic events such as seminars, conference, or exhibits through the DLSU web pages.
Covers the maintenance of the web sites for DLSU-Manila and its affiliates, DLS-PSI, and DLSU-System; creation of web pages for the different University offices and colleges.
Provides clients with a single point of contact, to respond to requests on procedural matters, to log problems, and to be responsible for problem resolution. The Help Desk is a campus-wide computer information service for De La Salle University.
Cover data center operations and network infrastructure, information systems, and other customer-related services.
In essence, the ITC is responsible for the supervision of computing facilities, development and monitoring of administrative computerized systems, generation of information systems reports and for the rendering of other system services with the end view that such services provide effective and efficient support to the requirements of the university.
