This is in response to the University's continuing quest for growth and improvement in achieving a world-class "Quality Education" centered on the guided principles of the University, and to give answer to the process owner's need to have a simplified and more effective system that is of high quality and excellent service to the students.
The process owner, Dr. Richard Gonzales, requested QAO formerly PRIO to review the Adjustment Process for the purpose of streamlining and improving it.
Patricia B. Antonio, a PRIO Research Analyst, spearheaded the project. It was approved 30 January 2001. The process improvements were then implemented.
The objective of pre-enrollment procedures review was to standardize and automate Course Approval and Pre-enrollment Form (CAPEF) for all colleges.
The result of the PRIT on pre-enrollment procedures was the electronically generated Course Approval Form (CAF) which was an output of the system generated by SMO called Online Course Enlistment.
The idea for online course enlistment kicked off after it was decided that undergraduate enrollment would go online. Course enlistment is a prerequisite to enrollment.
On June 11, 2001 the web-based program was presented to the Academic Assistants, Vice Deans, Mr. Samuel P. Mallare, Ms. Aida Velasco (PSI Registrar), and Ms. Agnes Yuhico (AVP Academic Services) at Conference Room B and the Registrar's Office. The presentation was made by Mr. Edwin Santiago (Manila Registrar), Ms. Vivian del Castillo-Sy, Ms. Amy Salcedo, and the My.LaSalle (MLS) group headed by Mr. James Sy. As a result of that successful presentation, the program was made available to students on June 18, 2001.
The training was done to create awareness and appreciation of the TQM concepts, principles, tools and approaches, and their application in the University and to enhance the capability of faculty members and school administrators in integrating TQM in appropriate school courses / activities.
