A team of assessors from the ASEAN University Network (AUN) conducted the AUN Quality Assurance Actual Assessment of the programs of the Economics Department and the Chemical Engineering Department last August 11-13, 2008. Both departments received high ratings from the assessors. The participation of DLSU in the AUN-QA assessment is an initiative to go beyond accreditation at the national level and to work towards getting the AUN-QA label. The assessment was based on information provided by the self-assessment report, on-site verification of documents, and interviews with students, faculty, alumni, staff, and employers. The AUN-QA program assessment uses 18 criteria. The Economics Department was cited for its Student Quality and Output; the Chemical Engineering program received highest scores in Programme Organization and Output.
The assessment team was composed of Chief Quality Officers (CQOs) and qualified academics from the National University of Singapore, Chulalongkorn University, Universiti Sains Malaysia, and the University of the Philippines Diliman. Also present in the assessment were the CQOs from AUN member universities including Vietnam National University, Bandung Institute of Technology, University of Indonesia, and Gadjah Mada University.
