The seminar-workshop deals with the basics of constructing traditional test forms (e.g., true-false, fill in the blanks, multiple choice). Participants will be introduced on the guidelines for developing such tests. Participants will develop actual tests they can use right after the workshop. Participants are also encouraged to bring their existing tests and evaluate these according to the discussed guidelines.

Part I of the seminar-workshop compares traditional with authentic forms of assessment. Emphasis is given on the rationale, format and components of a rubric. In Part II, participants will develop, present, and evaluate a rubric for their course.
