The unlawful use of threatened use of force or violence by a person or an
organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing
societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons(Source: Encyclopedia of Terrorism. Harvey

premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant
targets by subnational groups or clandestine agents, usually intended to influence an
audience (Source:http//www.state.gov.www.global.terrorism.1999report.intro.html)
