Filipiniana
All
materials or publication about the Philippines, its peoples and culture, regardless
of author, imprint and language form part of the Filipiniana Collection. The
Filipiniana Section collection is located at the 4th floor of the University
Library; however, Filipiniana periodical materials are integrated with the periodical
collection at the Periodicals Section. Likewise, duplicates of selected current
Filipiniana reference titles that are sources of demographic and statistical
data are kept at the Information-Reference Section.
Scope and Nature of the Material
- All book publication about the Philippines, its peoples and culture, regardless of author, imprint,
and language
- Generally, works written by Filipinos except theses and dissertations of DLSU faculty and students
and original research studies treating with universally accepted knowledge such as chemistry, mathematics,
physics, biology, etc.
Books written in Pilipino/Filipino and other Philippine languages and local dialects
- Philippine government publications and yearbooks, except publication by Philippine corporate bodies,
the subject matter of which does not have anything to do with the Philippines
- Publications containing substantial portions of chapters regarding the Philippines (publications with
only a small portion of chapter on the Philippines are not considered Filipiniana, but analytics are
provided for that portion or chapter)
- Works dealing with the application of scientific thought and methodology to local Philippine needs
and circumstances
