The
American Corner was established when De La Salle University Library received
in May 2000 the donation of the library collection of the former Thomas
Jefferson Information Center from the
Embassy of the United States in Manila.
The center was formally opened in a ceremony held on October 18, 2000. The opening ceremony was highlighted by the signing of a Memo of Agreement between Deputy Chief of Mission Michael E. Malinowski and DLSU President Rolando Dizon, FSC marking their continuous collaboration in the further development of the American Studies Resource Collection.
