PRE-CONFERENCE PREPARATIONS
This section explains activities during the seminar that
requires preparations from the participants.
- Country presentation by AUN member country.
_
Each country is requested to do a 5-8 minutes presentation on the IT profile of
their country. The presentation may include information like IT programs and
priorities identified by their government, IT manpower requirements, top priority IT
research areas, IT infrastructure profile, universities and degree offerings, etc.
Information that is complementary to the general theme of the seminar will be expected, as
these will benefit the participants and the general conduct of seminar. Slide
presentation using either an overhead projector or PowerPoint is highly recommended.
The general objective of this segment of the seminar is to draw a picture of the IT
"landscape" of each country.
_
Generally, there are two AUN member universities from each country. We
request the AUN member university conference representatives to contact other
representatives in their respective countries and discuss their presentation. Also,
we would like each country to have a designated country representative. As soon as
the country representative has been determined, may we request the representatives to
contact Dr. J.E.K. Dayao through email, post mail, or fax so that we will know who to
place in the final program. The designated country representative is responsible for
doing the 5-8 minutes presentation and sending the camera-ready presentation materials so
that they may be reproduced and distributed to the participants. We will appreciate
it very much if we can receive the camera-ready materials on or before March 21, 2000.
Please send the camera-ready materials as attachment to an email or through post
mail to:

- Parallel and Plenary Sessions
_
There will be two parallel sessions and a plenary session during the seminar.
The parallel sessions will be held on March 27 and March 28. Please refer to the
schedule of activities shown on Appendix E. It is advised that AUN member
universities register two delegates so that all universities will be represented in the
sessions.
_
These sessions have a pre-conference activity which will require the participants
to prepare data that will serve as input to the individual sessions. These
pre-conference activities are explained in detail in the session descriptions accompanying
this document.
_
The AUN member university representatives should determine which session they will
attend. Clarifications regarding a session should be directed the respective
moderators. This document identifies the moderator for each session and their
contact address.
