EXPECTED PROJECT OUTPUT:

The minimum targets for the identified specific objectives are the following:

  • to establish and develop hyperlinks to enhance information dissemination among AUN member universities
    1. Identification of the priority areas, guidelines, standardized format for information dissemination, as well as, timeline, milestones, deliverables, and action lines regarding identified priority areas and when the identified priority information will be made available to AUN member universities.
    2. Identification of methods or the possibility of establishing and developing IT infrastructures in Lao PDR, Myanmar and Combodia, as well as, to develop standardized or common format for library on-line or other kinds of hyperlinks.
    3. Identification of development programs that will help upgrade the manpower skills and capabilities of the faculty of AUN member universities.
  • to establish a virtual university
    1. Identification of a program (certificate/degree) that will be offered in collaboration with AUN member universities.  The description, curriculum, and implementation guidelines have been identified after the seminar.   This program may be used as the model for the concept of a virtual university.
    2. Identification of methods, pattern of courseware development to be used in selected fields of study mentioned in AUN priority areas and activities (such as ASEAN Studies or the coming Virtual University of Science and Technology – VUST under UNESCO)
    3. The seminar has established the Association of IT Heads through a memorandum of agreement signed by the representatives of the AUN member universities.  One possible target is to conduct biennial conferences that will focus on information networking, IT development, and virtual university.
