The continuously increasing use of interconnected computers (network) as a resource for knowledge, news, entertainment, data storage, and information sharing has spawned the demand in corporations, agencies and communities of any scale, for individuals who can design, manage, and secure such systems. The Network Engineering program combines a core Computer Science curriculum with networking-related topics, equipping students with skills and knowledge to develop and manage multi-platform enterprise-wide computer networks.
Students are additionally trained through the Cisco Networking Academy, a program developed by the world’s largest networking equipment developer and vendor whose products are found connecting computer systems from home to the corporate to government; and EMC Storage Technology, developed by an industry leader providing storage hardware solutions, data centers, and cloud computing. Subjects covering ethical hacking, secure programming, network tools development, corporate-level data storage infrastructure and management, as well as industry-accepted certifications within the program ensure that the NE graduate is highly proficient, technically adept, and in high demand in industry.
