About the Convention

  • THE CENSER, DLSU Physics Department, Philippine Radiation Oncology Society (PROS), and the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) will be having a convention on “Advanced Treatment Planning” on May 16 to 19, 2015.
  • The course will consist of lectures, hands-on practical treatment planning sessions and discussion sessions.
  • It will focus on challenging scenarios related to the interaction of clinical, imaging, and biological issues with the aim of enhancing the technological knowledge, skills and competencies of the participants.
  • The course will have sessions focusing specifically on advanced adaptations of dose distribution, with and without computer aided optimisation and modelling for complex cases. Through this meeting, the participants will be able to obtain a comprehensive understanding of all parts of the planning process and plan evaluation enabling them to increase the accuracy and the effectiveness of these procedures in daily practice.
  • The Convention is open to both local registrants as well as colleagues from the South East Asia Radiation Oncology Group (SEAROG) and the Philippine Organization of Medical Physicists (POMP) as well as non-SEAROG countries in Asia.

  • To promote the exchange of knowledge and experience with local practitioners and with the growing international radiation oncology community making up the South East Asia Radiation Oncology Group (SEAROG)
  • To deepen the knowledge of participants on comprehensive treatment planning and improve their understanding of strategies to obtain optimal treatment plans for the patients.


  • The course is aimed primarily at staff involved in treatment planning with at least two years of experience. This applies to radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and radiation therapy technologists with clinical experience and basic understanding of the fundamental components of treatment planning
