HESOSCICON Call For Papers

The Behavioral Sciences Department is now accepting abstracts of not more than 300 words for evaluation by the Scientific Conference Committee for possible oral or poster presentations during the conference. The focus of the papers should be the Philippines; however, inter-country comparisons are welcome as long as it includes the Philippines. Papers submitted should not have been published or presented locally. Proposals from associations or groups for panel submission are encouraged. Each panel is limited to a maximum of three papers per panel. Selected papers will be published in the Asia-Pacific Social Science Journal (APSSR).

The 300-word abstract should contain the following:

• Background. This should include a brief explanation of the problem/issue, objectives of research (for exploratory studies, state why needs to be explored.
• Methods – This should include the setting of the research particularly the number and type of participants (if there were any), brief details on the methodology used (e.g. survey, key informant interview).
• Results / Discussion- This should present the main research findings relative to the objectives of the study.
• Conclusion- Write a succinct conclusion, which highlights the primary result or theory generated from the research.

Deadline for submission of abstracts is on July 15, 2011. Notification of acceptance will be on July 30, 2011.

Deadline for submission of full paper of the accepted abstracts is on August 30, 2011.
