In line with De La Salle University’s goal to mold holistic individuals, it has a continuing search for students who excel in different sports. As the values of fair play, camaraderie and healthy competition are constantly impressed upon them, they are called to join sports competitions among schools like the University Athletic Association of the Philippines.
DLSU-Manila is a member of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA), University Games (UNIGAMES) and other prestigious tournaments and invitationals, both local and international. La Salle competes in more than 12 intercollegiate sports. There are sports varsity teams in Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Chess, Fencing, Football, Judo, Lawn Tennis, Softball, Swimming, Taekwondo, Table Tennis, Volleyball, and the Pep Squad.
Clubs have also been organized to harness students’ talents. These clubs include Arnis Team, Dragon Boat Team, Hockey Club, Iron Works Club, Karatedo Club, DLSU Rowing, Sarian and the Yonshinkan Aikido Club.
