Biographical Note :


Ma. Divina Gracia Z. Roldan is a full professor at the Political Science Department, College of Liberal Arts, De La Salle University, Philippines. She obtained her Ph.D. in Philippine Studies (specializing in bureaucracy and external relations) at the University of the Philippines Asian Center. Her research interests include Asian and development studies, migrant studies, and governance and information and communications technology (ICT) for social inclusion. She has led the Research Program Workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management at the De La Salle University and has presented in international conferences and published in Philippine and international books and journals. She was involved in interdisciplinary research projects on the use of Twitter in calamities (i.e.,Typhoon Haiyan/ Yolanda) and in the 2010 Philippine elections.

She has worked in public and private think-tanks on policy issues and served as Senior Research Scientist in Telenor Research and Innovation Center Asia Pacific, a Norwegian telecommunications research center, developing customer insight studies for Asian growth markets. She has managed research projects with internationally-trained professional teams from Europe and Asia.

She is a recipient of many awards for her research and publications among which are the Republica award given by the Philippine Commission on Higher Education and the University of the Philippines President’s Academic Distinction Award. She is a member of the Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society in Social Science and the International Board of Directors of Project Michaelangelo USA -- a non-profit organization for empowerment of children and young adults in Asia and worldwide.
